Professional Hunting Guide
Brent Reaves is a professional waterfowl guide whose passion for the outdoors and the outdoor way of life fueled his desire to develop his own duck call back in the early 1990’s. Born into a family rich in hunting heritage and tradition near Warren, Arkansas it seemed only natural that Brent would eventually be involved in hunting as a business.
The late Alvin Taylor, of Taylor Made Duck Calls in Clarendon, Arkansas, gave Brent his first lesson in call making. It was Mr. Taylor’s tutelage and encouragement that made Brent realize that the call he had developed was not only good, but also it was one that duck hunters would buy if they had the opportunity. More recently Brent studied in El Dorado, Arkansas call maker, Randall Morgan’s shop. Brent has given away untold numbers of his modified calls to a close circle of friends over the years. It was the popularity of these calls along with the urging of his good friend, Russell Lynch, which gave new life to the idea of offering them to a larger circle of friends.
Brent’s motivation in developing his own call was and remains to this day, to use a call to “put ducks in the decoys”. Contest calling never entered Brent’s mind when he was working on the call that he now produces for his fellow sportsmen. “My idea of a duck calling contest is judged by twelve gauge shotgun, not some fellow behind a curtain with a score card.”
Brent is married to Charlotte (Charlie) and has two children, Amy Luann, 16, and (brace yourself) Drake Hunter, 9. Take a wild guess who named him!
